News PRESS CONTACT Crunch Announces Technological Breakthroughs in New Line of GTR Speakers LAS VEGAS, January 5, 2006 (2006 International CES, Booth #2401)—Leading automotive speaker manufacturer Crunch USA unveiled today the Crunch GTR series of full-range speakers that offers exceptional sound quality with construction found in many high-end home audio speakers. Designed to easily fit into more than 90% of standard OEM speaker openings, the low-profile Crunch GTR series offers the latest in high-end speaker technology. Crunch GTR speakers feature the same lightweight silver IM polypropylene composite cones found in many high-end home audio speakers, creating an extremely responsive and accurate speaker that is highly resistant to flexing. The Neo-powered soft dome tweeter design of the Crunch GTR series utilizes a specially designed anti-resonant, damped rear chamber that decreases standing waves and lowers the tweeter’s resonant frequency to create extremely wide imaging and high-frequency reproduction. In addition, Crunch GTR tweeters feature a powerful rare earth neodymium magnet for increased power handling. Another key element to the superior sound quality of the Crunch GTR series is the butyl rubber surrounds that more effectively seal the out-of-phase audio back wave generated by the speaker’s back side and the IM polypropylene cones to enhance bass reproduction.
