Hifonics Newest Super D-Class™ Brutus Amp

January 1, 2007 - Chicago, IL., Maxxsonics USA Inc. the parent company of Hifonics, announced today, an addition to the Brutus Series of Super D-Class amplifiers. The 2600-Watt RMS Brutus BXi 2607D joins the ranks of over 30 new amplifier and speaker products under the Hifonics’ brand.

Maxxsonics debuts this sixth amplifiers in the Brutus Super D-Class™ high-performance car amplifiers at the 2007 CES (booth #1822). The other four new mono-block models range in power levels from 600-Watts x 1 to 2000-Watts x 1 with improved sound quality, affordable hi-power, head-turning cosmetics, and active low-pass crossovers. The new 2007 1-Ohm stable Brutus model BXi 2607D will ship to dealers shortly after the 2007 CES event. The 2007 Brutus BXi 2607D will include a dash mountable remote bass control, which connect to the amplifier via an RJ-45 style jack & cable.

Illumination is an apparent feature in all Brutus Series amplifiers. Keeping with tradition, the new Brutus BXi 2607D sports a large glowing Hifonics logo embedded in the top of the heat-sink. 1-Ohm stability is ensured by the PWM power supply, which is precisely controlled by the hi-speed microprocessor at the heart of the Super D-Class™ design. Slower power supply control circuits, result in power loss and performance, in-turn sonically limit conventional D-Class amplifiers. Super D-Class™ is a high-speed digital domain control circuit that overcomes the previous limitations of digital switching power supply based audio amplifiers.

This flagship Super D-Class Brutus BX2607D has an MSRP of $1199.95. All Brutus amplifiers are 1-Ohm stable and feature fully adjustable electronics crossover networks. Super D-Class™ differentiates Hifonics D-Class amplifiers from all other amplifiers on the market.

The Hifonics BXi 2607D will be first seen during the 2007 CES, in the LVCC North Hall, inside Maxxsonics booth #1822 amongst the displays for Hifonics, Autotek, Crunch and MB Quart audio products. Initial delivery of the BXi 2607D will be in early Spring 2007.
