New Look For Hifonics SPL Subwoofers

January 1, 2007 - Chicago, IL. , Maxxsonics USA Inc. the parent company of Hifonics is proud to debut over thirty new products including the all-new Olympus SPL subwoofer series during the 2007 CES event. Hifonics Olympus Series follows in the legendary footsteps of Hifonics Goliath Series subwoofers made famous during the 2006 dB / SPL competition season.

All Hifonics Olympus Series 12-Inch and 15-inch subwoofers offer a 1-inch tall rubber surround, glass-fiber impregnated cones, nickel-plated push & insert terminals and massive motor assemblies. 1600W Olympus subwoofers are equipped with 10lb. double-stacked magnets and 2400W Olympus subwoofers are equipped with 11¼ lb. double-stacked magnets. The Olympus Series subwoofer’s 1-inch rubber surrounds allow for huge cone excursions to provide extra-deep bass when small sealed or ported boxes are used. Four models of the Olympus subwoofers are available; all are dual 2-Ohm voice-coil configurations. Standard for Olympus subwoofers equipment are massive die-cast aluminum frames featuring white chrome plating, 3-inch voice-coils, and Nomex one-piece spider tinsel-lead assemblies to combat tinsel-lead failure at high volume levels. Hifonics Olympus subwoofer series, ply-cotton based, double laminated spider assembly, combats tinsel-lead failures and suspension failures at high volume levels.

The 2400-Watt RMS 15-inch Olympus SPL subwoofer, the OLM 2415, retails for $799 MSRP, followed by its 12-inch version, the OLM 2412, retails for $699 MSRP. The 1600-Watt RMS 15-inch Olympus SPL subwoofer, the OLM 1615, retails for $649 MSRP, followed by its 12-inch version, the OLM 1612 retails for $599 MSRP.

The new Hifonics Olympus SPL subwoofers join over 30 new Hifonics speaker and amplifier products. Initial delivery of these new products will take place in the first quarter of 2007.
