News MB Quart’s New Discus Speaker Intro’s January 1, 2007 - Chicago, IL., Maxxsonics USA Inc. is proud to announce the single largest product launch in MB QUART’s history. This new introduction comes only one year after Maxxsonics purchase of the MB QUART brand. Product development responsibilities were shared between Maxxsonics USA and Obrigheim, Germany product development groups and showcase the engineering talent of both organizations.
“The foundation of the new Discus mid-woofer is a low-resonant glass-fiber ABS blend frame that offers superior mid-bass performance by reducing unwanted resonances within the audio spectrum. This design, the most environmentally stable design available, won’t rust or become brittle. Discus’s new voice-coil assembly improves overall efficiency and mid-bass output”, adds Maxxsonics Ted Henricks. All Discus speakers include MB QUART’s highly acclaimed pure military-grade RoHs compliant titanium dome tweeter. This tweeter has an extended frequency response well beyond the limit of human hearing, greatly improving off-axis performance, staging and imaging within the normal listening range.
