MB Quart’s Massive 2007 Auto Speaker Roll-Out

This huge introduction comes just one year after Maxxsonics’ purchase of the MB QUART brand. Product development responsibilities are shared between Maxxsonics USA and MB Quart’s Obrigheim, Germany design teams. Four lines of full- range speakers highlight this impressive MB Quart intro.

Premium Series; The re-worked Premium Series features the company’s newest iteration of the ABS composite BTT speaker basket design, allowing for increased cooling of the speaker’s motor assembly along with a substantially larger spider assembly than would be typically found on a small speaker. The (+) Plus Coaxial design allows the Premium Series speakers to be used in both component and coaxial configurations. The Premium Series tweeter represents a quantum leap in tweeter technology by coupling an inverted titanium dome tweeter and nylon composite surround to an efficient encapsulated neodymium motor structure. “This inverted dome tweeter is the best sounding high-frequency driver we have ever built,” states Iradj Morrier, MB Quart’s Senior Engineer. A FleXX-Mount crossover rounds out the system. This crossover design allows the installer to mount it in nearly any position through the use of removable and repositionable mounting feet. The crossover also features advanced crossover controls that allow the user to custom tailor the sound.

Reference Series; Joining the Premium Series is the new Reference Universal Series. This application-driven speaker series features a shallow-mount basket that ranges between 1.3” and 1.7” in depth depending on size. This shallow mounting depth is achieved through the use of a front-mounted neodymium magnet. The design uses MB Quart’s time-proven PolyComp cone, spider and voice-coil which ensuring predictable performance on par with other MB QUART products. No sacrifices were made in making this speaker shallower than our standard line.

The Reference Universal tweeter is now the most compact tweeter design ever, fitting many spaces found in many of today’s popular cars. It features a .75” titanium dome mated to a nylon composite surround. It’s encased in an aluminum heatsink that provides effective heat dissipation from the tweeter’s high-energy neodymium magnet.

Reference crossovers also feature the new FleXX-Mount design allowing them to be mounted in nearly any location and in any position including vertical, horizontal flush or concealed. On board tweeter attenuation ensures flexibility to satisfy any musical taste.

Discus Series; Subtle yet incremental changes were made to the new Discus Series lineup. A new, more efficient crossover design measurably improves sound quality while increasing power handling. The new Discus voice-coil assembly improves overall efficiency and mid-bass output, at the same time, refining the whole system’s timbre and tonal balance.

EXP Series; The final audio puzzle piece is the all-new EXP Series. EXP Series represents the lowest price MB QUART speakers produced to date. But don’t let the low price fool you. These speakers are packed with performance making them a definite best-in-class contender. The EXP mid-bass uses a heavy-gauge stamped steel basket mated to the same voice-coil, spider, cone and surround used on other popular MB QUART models. Tinsel-leads mounted on opposing sides of the cone ensure cone balance and predictable long-term performance.

Each EXP system uses a 1” titanium dome tweeter but in a more efficient package than higher-end models. This allows EXP speakers to perform exceptionally when powered by the typical OEM or aftermarket stereo. Each EXP system includes a full-featured 12dB/Octave passive crossover network with the same level of adjustment found in the higher-end Discus and Reference Series products. These speakers join over thirty new MB QUART speaker and amplifier products. Initial delivery of these new products will take place in first quarter 2007.
