MB Quart’s New WideSphere™ Inverted Dome Tweeter

January 1, 2007 - Chicago, IL. Maxxsonics USA Inc and Maxxsonics Europe GmBh, the parent company of MB Quart an elite manufacturer of loudspeakers and audio transducers will debut speaker products featuring their new ground breaking tweeter technology during CES 2007. MB Quart’s new inverted titanium dome WideSphere™ tweeter technology will appear first in Q-Signature and Premium Series speakers, available post CES.

MB Quart’s new inverted-dome titanium tweeter design represents a quantum leap in transducer technology. MB Quart engineers developed an inverted titanium dome whose curvature geometry was the result of many years of acoustical engineering and advanced mathematics. So unique is the new MB Quart inverted dome tweeter, it offers an Fs of 1110Hz ( Free-Air Resonance) giving this tweeter design a usable frequency range of 900Hz to 30kHz. This uniquely shaped, titanium based inverted dome is coupled with such precision to a proprietary nylon composite surround that its off-axis dispersion measurements are nearly identical to those on-axis. The outstanding off-axis performance of the new MB Quart inverted dome tweeter places it in an elite class shared with none. No acoustical dispersion diffuser of any form is used in MB Quart’s new WideSphere™ tweeter designs.

Key engineering features and specifications for MB Quart’s new WideSphere™ inverted dome tweeter include; RoHS pure Titanium dome material, BTT heat sinking, self-damped Open-Cellstructure micro-foam surround suspensions, high-flux density N40H rated Neodymium power rings, dual-layer copper-clad aluminum VC wire, precision aluminum VC formers, and a massive power-handing capability measuring almost three times that of its predecessor, the MB Quart PTC25 25mm titanium dome tweeter.

MB Quart speakers offering WideSphere™ technology join over 30 new MB QUART speaker and amplifier products being introduced during CES.. Initial delivery of these new products will take place in the first quarter of 2007.
