Maxxsonics® USA Launches Hifonics® Zeus Series Subwoofers with Advanced Spider Design

Chicago, IL October 22, 2008 – Hifonics® has taken a radical approach to the standard spider design resulting in a line of Zeus subwoofers with increased output SPL and durability. Zeus subs are renowned for producing the most efficient and loudest performance in their class. This new line offers all the features expected, plus updated, great looking cosmetics, accurate bass reproduction through a wide range of frequencies and impressive power handling capabilities.

“What better way to preserve Hifonics’ “The Power from the Gods” legacy than by increasing SPL with a modification to a traditionally used method,” stated John Studley, Vice President of Product Development. “Through extensive testing, our Hifonics engineers were able to separate the two spiders and determine the ideal distance and position to produce maximum excursion outward and inward, while maintaining optimal control,” Studley further added.

This powerful line is available in five models in dual-voice coil 2-Ohm, 4-Ohm in 10- and 12-inch round profiles and a 12-inch round single-voice coil 4-Ohm. Other features include a rubber surround for long excursion, polypropylene cone and nickel-plated push and insert speaker terminals to keep the amps energy focused within the speaker’s core.

The heat dispersing ported nickel-plated back plate, ultra ridged stamped steel basket and protective rubber magnet wrap all add increased strength and durability.

The new Zeus series of subs are designed for sealed and ported enclosures both maximizing efficiency to produce even greater sound. Look for these from Maxxsonics at the end of October.
