MB Quart’s BASH® Powered Alexxa Subwoofers
Chicago (Jan 1, 2008) – MB Quart dealers nationwide are now selling two new MB Quart ALexxa Series powered subwoofers alongside other high-performance MB Quart home audio products. The Alexxa powered subwoofers will be seen at CES 2008 along with MB Quart’s new Milan Series speakers. MB Quart’s new Milan Series is targeted at owners of flat-panel televisions.
The new Alexxa SW subwoofers feature down-firing drivers coupled to powerful and highly efficient BASH design digital amplifiers. BASH® by Indigo is a patented high efficiency power amplifier topology that utilizes the best Class D amplifier characteristics combined with the best features of Class AB and created a new amplifier class of its own. BASH® offers the audiophile, a successful marriage of efficiency, low distortion, and sound quality. MB Quart adopted this extremely cost effective solution for its high-power subwoofer applications. With Bash inside, the Alexxa SW-10 and SW-12 deliver all the low-frequency impact needed for a complete audiophile-grade Alexxa Series speaker system.
"The Bash powered SW-12 and SW-10’s subwoofer are rock solid bass engines that can deliver the impact and excitement needed for the intensity of a real movie theater or live performance," said Alden Stiefel, CEO of Maxxsonics USA Inc. MB Quart’s parent company. "The Alexxa SW subwoofers use world class-leading technology to give you deeper, harder hitting bass and more realism than anything else in their price class."
The SW-12, a BASH powered subwoofer incorporates a 12-inch woofer and generates 300-Wrms power and 650 watts of dynamic power, the SW-10, also BASH powered, employs a 10-inch driver and delivers 250-Wrms power and 600 watts of dynamic power. Alexxa SW subwoofers have acoustical suspension type MDF enclosures with a precise acoustical alignment that offers accurate bass response with very low distortion. Isolation feet secure the down-firing subwoofer system at an optimum height, ensuring consistent performance regardless of floor-covering type. The Alexxa SW Series subwoofers are available with a cabinet top panel to match the piano cabinet finishes of the other gloss-finish Alexxa speakers.
Inputs on Alexxa subwoofers include line-level RCA jacks and high-level input terminals. Both Alexxa SW subwoofers have built-in, steep-slope (24dB/octave) continuously adjustable low-pass crossovers. A level control, crossover control, and phase control facilitate acoustical integration with other speakers in the system. An "auto power" feature allows the Alexxa SW subwoofers to turn-on and off automatically triggered by the presence or absence of an audio source signal. A LED located on the front of each subwoofer indicates whether the unit is on or in standby mode.
The Alexxa SW Series subwoofers are; $1399.00 MSRP ea for the SW-12 and $1199 for the SW-10.
