Team Maxxsonics Announces Major 2007 Accomplishments
Chicago, IL ( Jan 1, 2008 ) Maxxsonics USA Inc, parent corporation of MB Quart, Hifonics, Autotek and Crunch mobile electronics brands announce the results for Team Maxxsonics, the SPL and Sound Quality enthusiasts who compete in weekend audio contests. In just three years Team Maxxsonics has become an international car audio phenomenon.
With the 2007 competition season coming to a close, Team Maxxsonics members collectively finished another highly successful year in style. Accrediting cohesive teamwork, good sportsmanship and major sacrifices of time and labor, Team Maxxsonics members brought home an amazing two-hundred fifty-seven (257) 1st -place trophies, ninety seven (97) 2nd -place trophies and fifty-one (51) 3rd -place trophies. The victorious Team Maxxsonics smashed nine (9) World Records for SPL, five (5) national / US Records and twenty-six (26) State Records, all competing in dB Drag Racing, USACi, MECA, IASCA and NSPL events.
SPL competition is an equal opportunity sport and the gals are racking up major wins. Team Maxxsonics member, Ana Flowers, who prior to 2007 was a 3-time dB Drag World Finalist, finally got her well deserved time in the spotlight when she scores an incredible 156.8 dB SPL to win the United States dB Drag Racing Street A-Class Championship. Ana achieved this phenomenal score using only a stock vehicle with a single battery, just two 10-inch subwoofers coupled to two Hifonics XXV Sampson amplifiers!
Seven time dB Drag World Finalist Terry Brocks, accomplished an incredible feat in 2007 by setting the highest certified SPL record to date in Street A, Street B and Street C classes exclusively using Hifonics amplifiers. Never before has a single competitor had the highest certified SPL score in all three Street classes! Terry Brocks also raised the bar for everyone by pumping out an amazing 157.9dB to win the NSPL No-Wall 0-24 World Title using only 2-10” subwoofers, two batteries and just two Hifonics XX Goliaths amplifiers.
Veteran SPL competitor Eric Alexander, who is a 14-time World Finalist in dB Drag and MECA competitions, amazed the MECA crowds during the 2007 World Finals during his record setting Drive-By bursts which measures an incredible 136.7dB SPL average for over 30 seconds. The certified SPL meter was placed just 6-feet away from the vehicle. This score is 3.5dB over the previous record! Not only did Eric do this feat once, but he did it again to honor the crowd with a second run measuring over 137dB Eric’s windshield broke from all the SPL pressure.
Eric was awarded the SPL Best of Show trophy and the World Championship in Modex 3 class for his score of 162.5dB, which was measured at the vehicles headrest. Eric also captured the World Championship in DB5 class. Eric went on to win the prestigious Alma Gates Cup for loudest Drive-By score at World Finals. Eric’s accomplished all this in his Chevy Astro using 12 Hifonics Olympus 2412 subwoofers and 6 Crunch GP3000D-Pro amplifiers. Eric came to entertain the spectators, set World Records, and won World Championships and he did just that.
For the 2007, Maxxsonics offered extra incentives for Team members to attend more events and promote the Maxxsonics audio products. The incentive materialized in the form of Points Championship. This Points Championship series was fashioned so that each member would accrue 8 points for each 1st place win with points trickling down to 1-point for an 8th place win. Collectively over the course of 2007, Team Maxxsonics members earned an incredible 6403 points under this new system. The contest point’s chase came down to finish buzzer, keeping all the team members in suspense. Ultimately 1st place winner was Jay Thomson with 490-pts, 2nd winner was Dwight Dorsey with 487-pts and 3rd place was taken by Dwayne LaMarr with 476-pts. Through undying commitment and participation in the program, each winner will receive gift certificates redeemable for Maxxsonics products, unique Maxxsonics varsity-style jackets, and celebratory awards trophies for their achievements.
“Maxxsonics is very proud of every Team Maxxsonics member because through these contestants hard work and commitment to the SPL sport, good peer to peer sportsmanship and comradery, each has elevated the Car Audio industry’s public image”, stated Alden Stiefel, Maxxsonics USA’s President and CEO.
