Hifonics 5 and 10-Kilowatt Dynamic Duo
Chicago, IL. - Hifonics announces two new earth-shaking Ultra D-Class™ subwoofer amplifiers. One is aptly named Maxximus, and it is capable of delivering 10-kilowatts (yes that's 10,000-watts RMS) to your subwoofers. Completing the duo is Maxximus's sibling weighing in at 5-kilowatts RMS, named Goliath. These Ultra D-Class amp-gods assault the competition with power levels that other amplifiers just cannot touch.
The flagship 10kW Maxximus amplifier & its 5kW partner Goliath, feature Ultra D-ClassTM amplifier technology at their epicenters, both are engineering refinements of previous Hifonics Super D-Class™ amplifier designs. These Ultra D-Class™ mammoth amplifier designs use Hifonics top 1% grade, highest-speed microprocessors to precisely serve the proprietary conversion algorithms operating the digital to analog control circuits which manage these kilowatt monster's massive appetites for current.
Hifonics Ultra D-Class™ digital amplifier designs improve upon the fidelity of traditional D-Class amplifiers while offering major efficiency improvements. This advantage leads to smaller circuit footprints at the semiconductor and PCB level. At the design level, these advantages reduce the size of power supplies, heat sinks and significantly reduce the radiated heat of Hifonics competition class amplifiers. Ted Henricks, Maxxsonics Vice-President of Sales and Marketing informs, "While pulse-width modulated (PWM) switching amplifiers (conventional Class-D) can also achieve similar power advantages, none have done so without major compromises in audio quality. Our Ultra D-Class™ amplifiers provide A/B class amplifier audio quality." Ultra D-Class™ amplifier benefits include high damping factors for superior transient response & high stability at low speaker load impedances. In 2004, Hifonics new Ultra D-Class™ digital amplifiers set a new standard in 12-volt audio performance and amplifier power efficiency. Henricks adds, " Y2004 marks the year our dealers dubbed Hifonics the King of the D-Class Amplifiers".
Alden Stiefel, Maxxsonics CEO states, "Maxximus & Goliath are amp giants like no others. Designing kilowatt mega-amplifiers of this magnitude required Hifonics to use the best cutting-edge engineering, the best, (albeit) expensive precision components, and absolutely no compromises in quality". Stiefel adds, "Even at the 10,000-Watt power class, Hifonics Ultra D-ClassTM design gives an unmatched power-to-cost ratio. The 5kW Goliath and the 10kW Maxximus raise the benchmark for the SPL competitors in 2005 ".
The Goliath Ultra D-Class™ amp retails at $4999.95 and the Maxximus retails at $9999.95.
